Welcome to Skylark
The Skylark Café sits at the heart of beautiful Wandsworth Common.
We are surrounded by duck ponds, sports pitches, tennis courts, playgrounds, a bowling green and a nature centre — all within 170 acres of open green space! We’re delighted to be able to welcome our customers to sit both in the cafe and on the terrace again.
You’ll find something for everyone, from a simple cheese toastie, chargrilled brunch baps or chuck & rib hamburgers to sophisticated salads and seasonal hot dishes, all prepared by our skilled chefs. We’ve some great tipples on the wine and beer menu to accompany your food, too. With small children of our own, we also serve specific dishes for our youngest guests, and freshly bake our delicious cakes and savouries at our newly opened bakery on West Hill, Wandsworth.

Artisan Coffee
Our trained baristas use Curious Roo coffee beans, roasted in Ealing. If you’re a fan of the Artisan coffee shops run by Curious Roo’s founders Edwin & Magda (in Sheen, Putney & Chiswick) you will know how good the beans are!

Delicious All Day Brunch
From our healthy plant-packed brunch bowls and seasonal avocado on toast to delicious brunch baps, with Cacklebean Eggs & Dry Cured Bacon and the finest Cumberland sausages, house-made soups and ingredient-packed sourdough toasties, you will find something on our menu to tickle your tastebuds. All of our food is also available ‘to-go’ if you prefer to take it to a leafy spot on the Common.
Scrumptious home baking
All our delicious cakes are created from scratch at our bakery by chefs Frank, Ana and their talented team. We have a treat for everyone, a couple of time-honoured favourites are our classic Chocolate & Orange Marble Cake and our Vegan Carrot Cake with Coconut frosting.
Wine & Craft Beer
Our team carefully selects all our wine and beer, and from November to early January we serve mulled cider and wine too. We also serve G&T’s, Aperol Spritz, particularly good on sunny days on the terrace.
Teas & Infusions, Hot Chocolate & Seasonal Drinks
When you need to warm up or dry out on the Common with a good cup of tea or hot chocolate, we’ve got you! We make special kiddie versions for the little ones too. For our seasonal special drinks like our famous Christmas Cookie Cappuccino, we create our recipes from scratch, so there just amazing flavours and are no synthetic ingredients.
Ice cream & Lollies
Rain or shine, an ice cream always makes a trip to the Common extra special! We have cones and scoops (with sprinkles and sauces!) and mini-tubs, plus lollies galore.
Planning your visit…
We are delighted to be open for both takeaway and eating in with a choice of our outdoor terrace seating or our indoor tables. Most of our seating is unreserved but you can reserve a table by completing the enquiry form on the right hand side of this page. If you haven’t visited us before you will find us to be a relaxed cafe/coffee shop with delicious food (rather than a restaurant). We are dog and family friendly, everyone is welcome!
You can order your food and drink in two ways, at our indoor counter or use the HOPT app (download the HOPT App and search for The Skylark Café)
From your smartphone, you can use the buttons below to download the HOPT app either from the App Store (for Apple smartphones), or from Google Play (for Android smartphones).
Once you’ve got HOPT, use the search function to find our page where you can view the menu, and place your order.
Please relax on our terrace once you have placed your order, and a member of the team will call your customer number once it is ready. Or, if you have put in your table number your order will arrive at your table.
Planning a party?
We’ve provided the food and drinks for countless celebrations over the years from intimate gatherings, birthday parties, weddings and school or work socials.
